Raise your hand if something different is always something interesting – ME! I always love a new challenge, a change of scenery, and a breath of fresh air. Something about the unknown makes me thrive, even when I’m a bit nervous going into things. Perhaps this is why I became a wedding photographer! The time around, though, the new endeavor was photographing a modern studio engagement session, and it was FUN!
Baylee reached out to schedule her engagement photos in the winter, which usually means my couple is hoping for snow. However, when Baylee sent over her ‘inspo’ photos – it CLICKED. She sent over some of the exact same images I had pinned in a “Studio Engagement” board for a long time! I had been thinking about moving some engagement photos indoors since I opened my studio in 2022, but just had not yet got around to it. Luckily, Baylee was on the same page and we were able to make it happen!

My studio is located just outside of Pittsburgh, near Beaver, so it’s easy to move engagement sessions indoors if needed. This is definitely something I’ll consider offering more and more now that I know how amazing the results can be!
What to Wear for a Studio Engagement Session
For this session, we thought that a very simple take on outfit planing would make the most impact in the images. We wanted to use simple, clean backdrops and make the photos and posing really incorporate the ‘feel’ of the photo session. Going with simple white shirts, jeans, and a classic take on ‘dressing up’, we kept it simple for impactful photos in other ways

Having a studio on my property is one of the best investments and changes I have made to my business! With heating, air conditioning, a changing room, and ample parking, the studio is a great place for couples to relax, have fun, and create some art with me!
