Who doesn’t love a surprise engagement proposal? I have been photographing lots of proposals in the past few weeks, and they’re always so exciting and fun to capture for these couples. The anticipation is exciting and a great rush – a fun part of my job!
Jacob was planning to propose to Miranda on the West End Overlook, with a great view of the downtown Pittsburgh skyline. He got a GREAT day to do it – the weather was just spectacular! He knew that he wanted to propose in the covered walkway at the West End Overlook, so we made plans to have me setup at the end of the walkway as just a casual passer-by. I also looked out for other public guests and alerted them that a proposal was going to happen any minute, so they held back and kept the secret and made the space available to us!
When they arrived, Jacob walked Miranda to the perfect spot and surprised her by asking her to marry him. After that, we were able to photograph some great images of the two of them and their excitement around the West End Overlook park area. We had them nestled in the grass, smilie with the overlook and the downtown Pittsburgh view, and having some fun together. It was the perfect surprise proposal and it was an honor to photograph!
