A Beaver County wedding – yes! Having lived in Beaver County for a few years, I love when I can stick a little closer to my studio on a Saturday to photograph a local wedding. Abby and Dom were an amazing couple, with a ton of nieces and nephews! Ha!
Abby chose to get ready at her childhood home, where her mom helped her into her wedding dress in the bedroom where she grew up. She was all smiles getting ready for the day, until the tears started to flow seeing her Dad for the first time. Both of her parents were beaming at the sight of their youngest child – the only girl – getting ready to head out to Aliquippa to marry her fiance.
Abby and Dom met through their Catholic Church community, so their ceremony was hugely important to them. Understanding this about their background, I made sure to really photograph them beautifully in the church, with lots of family photos inside of St. Titus of Aliquippa and also some beautiful bride and groom portraits with the stained glass windows of the church.
After their wedding ceremony, we headed right down the street to the BF Jones Memorial Library to photograph their portraits. They chose this location because they are both HUGE book worms! Yes, you read that right, this is a great wedding to draw inspiration if you are looking for library and book themed weddings! We photographed them outside of the library with the remaining November light and then headed inside of the building for photos in the book stacks and at the reading lights of the library room.
After their wedding photos, we drove to their reception at Center Stage Banquet Hall in Monaca, where the first thing you saw coming in the doors was their bookcase seating chart – such a cute idea! The reception at Center State was filled with lots of their family and friends, and I loved the challenge of lighting this big room! I got to work the reception party with DJ Rambo, who was a great easy-going guy to spend the party talking to. They had a huge cookie table, lots of dinner and dancing, and a great celebration of their Beaver County wedding!
