If you’re looking for one of the hidden gem locations in Pittsburgh for photos, then Mellon Park is your place! Lots of photographers are familiar with this location because we love the evening light and the architectural details all within a short walking distance. The parking lot is super-easy to find (It’s right next to the Pittsburgh Center for The Arts) and it’s just a short walk into the park itself.

There is an ‘upper’ part of Mellon Park that features the walled garden and the cobblestone sidewalks. This area gets the best late-evening light and has tons of flowers and detail!

The ‘lower’ part of Mellon Park features walking paths between the ever greens and spring-blossoming bushes to use as backgrounds for your photos. There is also a large staircase in this area that I love to have my couples sit on for photos!

Down the hill at Mellon Park you’ll find more large wintering trees, long paths, and a large curved staircase that is excellent for pictures as well.

The final treat at Mellon Park? The Carriage Road with the iron gate to the side of the park. This area has a large entrance gate and cobblestone streets which are very enchanting and photographically beautiful!

You can’t go wrong with a photoshoot at Mellon Park in Pittsburgh – it truly is a hidden gem of a location!
