Colleen and Alex’s wedding day was one of those Pittsburgh fall days that felt almost too perfect to be real. The sky was clear, the air was warm, and the sunlight made the whole city glow — truly an October day to remember! Their celebration was filled with love, laughter, and so much fun from start to finish.

From their emotional ceremony at St. Paul Cathedral to their chic reception at the breathtaking Carnegie Museum of Art, every moment of the day was beautiful and full of life.

Ceremony at St. Paul Cathedral

Colleen and Alex said “I do” inside one of Pittsburgh’s most iconic and awe-inspiring churches — St. Paul Cathedral in Oakland. The grand architecture, soaring ceilings, and stained glass windows made for an unforgettable backdrop to their vows. I always love photographing weddings at St Paul Cathedraul, where I’m friends with all of the church ladies! We make sure to not only get gorgeous photos of the wedding ceremony, but expedited family photos on the altar and then more pretty pictures outside of the church. On this day, the church was showing off with some wonderful light! I also made sure to showcase the architecture of this Pittsburgh marvel, because it’s definitely one of the most beautiful churches in the ‘Burgh. A favorite of mine any day!

Portraits & Pretty Pittsburgh Light

After the ceremony, we took advantage of that perfect fall weather with portraits outside. The lighting was magical (I mean, I dream of this kind of beautiful light on a regular basis) and Colleen and Alex were such naturals in front of the camera. Their easy chemistry and joyful energy made every frame shine. Plus, I had a blast working alongside the video team from Dorosh Documentaries — we laughed all day and truly had so much fun capturing every detail together. I edited out his cool drone in a few, but that means we got some killer shots!

Reception at the Carnegie Museum of Art

When it comes to unforgettable Pittsburgh wedding venues, few places compare to the Carnegie Museum of Art and Natural History. Colleen and Alex’s reception, planned flawlessly by Hello Productions and coordinated on-site by Tina Cerny, transformed the space into a stunning, elegant celebration. I especially loved how the layout of the Music Foyer was unlike any other wedding that I photographed here … and perhaps my new favorite setup! The band was at one end, with draping behind them (elegant), and the tables were all through the Music Foyer with the sweetheart table at the complete other end. It was unique and very workable for the guests throughout the night! Chic!

The Community Flower Shop, led by Miranda Wilder, filled the museum with soft, romantic florals that perfectly complemented the architecture and art-filled atmosphere. Lighting by BSP Inc. added extra magic, with warm tones that highlighted every detail.

Guests enjoyed an incredible dinner and cake by Culinaire, whose team always creates a flawless experience at the museum. And then — the dancing began!

The Bachelor Boys Band brought the house down – one fo the best bands in Pittsburgh. They were on point with their music and singing, and even I was dancing! The energy was high, the crowd was all-in, and the dance floor stayed full all night long. It was truly a party to remember.

Bridal Style & Finishing Touches

Colleen looked absolutely radiant in her Anne Barge gown from Anne Gregory Bridal — a perfect mix of timeless and modern. Her classic Tacori jewelry added just the right sparkle, and her flawless makeup by Glam To Go tied everything together beautifully. The paper goods from Oh Joyful Day added a touch of elegance from start to finish, and Molly’s Trolleys made sure they traveled in style between locations.

A Perfect Day for a Perfect Couple

From the first look to the final song, Colleen and Alex’s wedding was a dream — elegant, joyful, and full of heart. Every moment felt genuine and full of connection, not just between the couple but among their families and friends too. Honestly, as a photographer who works weddings every weekend, theirs was a BLAST. I had a ton of fun with them, and went home satisfied that I am in the job that I love.

If you’re dreaming of a classic Pittsburgh celebration filled with art, architecture, and unforgettable moments, Carnegie Museum weddings offer it all — and Colleen and Alex’s day was the perfect example of that timeless beauty.
