The Lake Club of Ohio is an absolutely stunning venue to hold both your wedding ceremony and reception! I recently had the honor of photographing AnaLisa and Dunnegan’s wedding at The Lake Club in Youngstown, Ohio and it was an absolutely wonderful day!
We started their wedding preparations at the Springhill Suites Hotel in Canfield, Ohio. When I arrived I met up with AnaLisa and started photographing her beautiful details, which included lots of loose flowers from Lou Lou Blooms – you’ll love her floral arrangements throughout this wedding photo post! After photographing the details, I went to meet up with Dunnegan in his room to photograph his getting ready portion of the day. When I got there I had completely forgotten that he was wearing a kilt for the wedding! The pieces of his wedding kilt were so interesting and really paid homage to his families crest and Scottish heritage.
After Dunnegan’s getting ready images it was time to hop back with the girls and photograph AnaLisa’s final getting ready phase of the morning. Her classic wedding dress by Anne Barge that she got at Anne Gregory Couture was ready to go! She got dressed in one of the suites at Canfield Springhill Suites Hotel. It is a new hotel and she was excited to have access to one of their brand new wedding preparation rooms! I loved the sparkling sunlight that was coming through the windows and made sure to get some beautiful portraits of AnaLisa in this gorgeous light before we headed out to The Lake Club.
Once we arrived at The Lake Club there were a couple of locations that I had scoped out prior to the start of my day that I really wanted to photograph. These locations were located on the golf course right next to the ceremony site and had wonderful light for both a first look and wedding party photos! Not only were the backgrounds at The Lake Club beautiful but the lake itself really added a gorgeous scenic location for us to use for all of their portraits. In fact, AnaLisa and Dunnegan chose The Lake Club wedding venue because they wanted to get married on a lake – not because they were from Youngstown, Ohio!
AnaLisa and Dunnegan had a first look…followed by a second first look! Their dogs (which both happen to be named Finn) joined us for “family photos” with the new couple. These images were really cute and they loved interacting with their dogs on the day of their wedding. I could tell that their Finns meant a lot to them! We finished up this portion of the day with wedding party images on the lawn at The Lake Club and then prepared for the wedding ceremony.
The ceremony took place on the back lawn of The Lake Club in an area called the Rose Garden. When I say that this location was probably one of the prettiest I have ever photographed a wedding ceremony – I am telling the absolute truth! The light that we had for their wedding ceremony at The Lake Club was simply outstanding. I could not have asked for better color, better weather, or better people to photograph for this ceremony. Their wedding vows were simply touching and I actually was brought to tears with their touching vows.
They exited their wedding ceremony thanks to a bagpiper which really added another level of homage to Dunnegan’s Scottish heritage. After the wedding ceremony we wrapped all of our portrait time with family photos in the Rose Garden because I simply could not pass up this gorgeous location for more images that would hang on their walls and their families homes for years to come.
We were a little tight on timing so we were not able to go all the way out onto The Lake Club of Ohio’s golf course in a cart, but we did walk down to the lake to photograph them on some of the nearby golf areas and with the last of the evenings pretty light that we had available. The Lake Club of Ohio weddings have got to be some of my favorite!
The final portion of our day was the wedding reception which left no lack of fun on the table! AnaLisa and Dunnegan were surrounded by lots of their friends and family, proved to be a really fun crowd. Whether they were on the dance floor or by the bar, everyone was al smiles for them. AnaLisa had wonderful speeches by three of her best friends in the world and it was wonderful to see Dunnegan dancing with his mom on the dance floor. We finished at the wedding reception coverage at The Lake Club of Ohio with some photos on the back staircase surrounded by lots of candles. <3
Photographing weddings at The Lake Club is something that I absolutely would love to have more on my calendar as the years go on. Although I live in Pennsylvania, my studio is located very close to the Pennsylvania and Ohio border and driving to The Lake Club is as easy as driving into Pittsburgh for me. Photographing weddings in the Youngstown and Boardman Ohio area is a priority as my business continues to grow.
